Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week
From: Marketing Team Lead
To: Department Staff
Date: October 26
Subject: Upcoming weekly lunch rotation suggestions
Hi everyone,
As we plan for the next week, I wanted to circulate some ideas for our team lunches. The cafeteria has a new seasonal menu they are testing.
Jenny from accounting mentioned the roasted vegetable and quinoa bowl was quite good last Thursday. She said the carrots were particularly well seasoned. Mike in logistics prefers the classic sandwich bar, but he agreed to try the new option if we order it as a group.
I think we should consider a mix. Perhaps Tuesday could be the new bowl option, and Thursday could be the build-your-own sandwich station. This gives everyone a choice.
Also, a reminder about the coffee supplies. The kitchen has restocked the regular and decaf pods. Please make sure to clean the machine after use if there is any spillage. The maintenance crew noted some grounds in the tray last Friday afternoon.
On a separate note, has anyone tried that new recipe for the black bean soup that was in the newsletter I made it over the weekend. It was straightforward, though I added a bit more cumin than called for. My family enjoyed it with some crusty bread. It made plenty for leftovers.
Back to lunch planning. Does anyone have a dietary preference or restriction I should note for the order Please reply by end of day so I can confirm the counts with the cafeteria manager. They need a 48-hour notice for the special menu items.
The weather is supposed to turn cooler next week, so a warm soup option might be welcome. I will ask if they can have the tomato basil as a daily option in addition to the specials.
Let me know your thoughts. I am also open to other cuisine ideas. We have not done a Mediterranean platter in a while. That is always a popular choice with the hummus and pita bread.
Thanks,
Marketing Team Lead
P.S. Do not forget the all-staff meeting is at 10 AM in the main conference room. They will be discussing the upcoming quarter's project timelines. It might run through the usual lunch start time, so we may need to adjust our order for a slightly later pickup.
I will send a follow-up email tomorrow once I have all the preferences compiled. Looking forward to a good week of collaboration and maybe trying that new quinoa bowl together.
If the soup is a hit, maybe we can get the recipe to share. The chef is usually happy to provide a general guideline for popular dishes. I know Sarah in design likes to cook and often asks for recipes.
Okay, that is all for now. Back to work on the quarterly review slides. Let me know about lunch.
Cheers.
