Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week
I was thinking we could switch it up from the usual sandwich platter. Maybe a baked potato bar We could set out toppings like chili, broccoli, cheese, sour cream, and chives. It's fairly simple to organize and can cater to different dietary preferences. John from accounting mentioned his wife makes a great vegetarian chili we could possibly get the recipe for.
Alternatively, a large salad with grilled chicken or shrimp on the side is always a fresh option. We could include a variety of dressings and maybe some crusty bread. I know the marketing team has that meeting on Wednesday, so something easy to eat while working might be best that day.
Has anyone tried that new Italian place on 5th They do family-style pasta dishes. We could order a few different kinds – a marinara, an alfredo, and a pesto perhaps. Would need to check budgets, but it could be a nice occasional treat. Let me know your thoughts by end of day Friday so I can place any necessary orders.
On a completely different note, I finally got around to pruning the rose bushes last weekend. It was long overdue. The weather has been perfect for it – not too hot, not too cold. I listened to that podcast you recommended while I worked. It made the time go by quickly. I'm hoping for a good bloom this spring if I timed it right.
Remember the project timeline we discussed for the Q3 review I've drafted a preliminary schedule and will circulate it this afternoon. The main thing is to align the data analysis from the research group with the presentation materials. Susan said her team should have their portion ready by the 18th, which gives us a good buffer.
I need to stop by the hardware store later. The faucet in the guest bathroom has developed a persistent drip. I think it just needs a new washer. While I'm there, I should pick up more picture hanging hooks. I've been meaning to put up those prints from the conference last year. They've been leaning against the wall in the study for months now.
What did you think of the documentary series that concluded last night I found the final episode particularly compelling, though I wish they had spent more time on the later developments. The cinematography throughout was stunning. It's impressive what they can capture in remote locations these days.
Back to the lunch topic – if we go with the potato bar, I can bring my slow cooker in to keep the chili warm. We'll need to ensure we have enough plates and utensils. I'll check the supply closet. Also, does anyone have a preference for drink options I was thinking iced tea, lemonade, and water. Coffee, of course, we always have.
Let's touch base briefly tomorrow morning after the stand-up to finalize. I'll send a calendar invite for a quick 10-minute check-in. Have a good afternoon everyone, and please send any other lunch suggestions my way before then.
