That sounds like a solid plan. I ended up taking a different route with the deck staining project. Used a semi-transparent oil-based stain instead of solid. The grain shows through nicely and it should hold up for at least two years. The prep work took a full day of cleaning and sanding, but the application went quick. I did two coats with a twelve-hour gap. Looks like it came out better than I expected. The neighbors asked what brand I used. I told them it's the same stuff the local paint shop recommended. They said their old fence could use a refresh. I offered to help if they need an extra hand. The weather this week looks perfect for drying. I also replaced a couple of loose boards before starting. That added an extra hour but totally worth it. Now the entire fence feels solid. Next weekend I might tackle the garden boxes. Need to pick up some cedar lumber. 47NABQUoKpmYi I already sketched out the dimensions. Should be straightforward to knock out in one afternoon. Let me know if you want to come over and help saw some boards.

I picked up that portable camp stove you mentioned. It works great even in light wind. The two burners put out enough heat to boil water in under five minutes. I used it last weekend during a quick overnight trip and it performed better than my old white gas stove. The ignition system is reliable. The only thing I noticed is that you need to be careful with the pot size—big pans wobble a little. But for most cooking it's fine. I also appreciate how compact it packs. Fits inside the cook set without any wasted space. I'm planning to take it on the bike packing trip next month. Should make meal prep much easier. I tested the simmer control and it actually works, not just a full blast or nothing. So far I'm impressed. Let me know if you want to borrow it before your next outing.
