You know I finally started that renovation project in the spare room and honestly it is taking way longer than I expected. I thought I could just paint a couple of walls and swap out the light fixture but now I am looking at baseboards and trim and wondering where the weekend went. My neighbor stopped by and offered to help with the cutting so at least I will have some company while I figure out the corners. I found some old photos tucked behind the radiator too which was a nice surprise. Anyway I was thinking about that hike we talked about maybe we can aim for early next month once the leaves start turning. I will send you the trail map later this week. I finally got around to sorting through all those old recipe cards my grandmother left me and I found one for a lemon cake that I had never seen before. I tried it out last night and it turned out surprisingly well even though I accidentally used buttermilk instead of regular milk. It still came together nicely though and the texture was really moist. I brought a slice to my neighbor and she asked for the recipe so I guess it was a success. I also finally finished that book you lent me last month and I have so many thoughts about the ending. I will drop it off this weekend and we can chat about it then. I hope you are doing well and staying dry with all this rain we have been getting.

I was telling my sister about that documentary we watched and she said she had already seen it twice. She recommended a follow-up series that dives deeper into the same topic so I might start that tonight. I also finally swapped out the old kitchen faucet and it took three trips to the hardware store but it is done and honestly it feels like a major victory. I am planning to tackle the bathroom next but that might have to wait until after the holidays. Let me know if you want to come over this weekend and see the changes.
