Oh wow, I finally checked out that trail you told me about last month. I have to say, the views from the ridge were absolutely worth the steep climb at the beginning. We started pretty early, around 6:30, just to catch the sunrise at the summit. The whole loop ended up taking us about five hours with plenty of stops for photos and snacks. I think I counted like eight different shades of green in the valley below. There's this one spot near the creek where the fog was lifting off the water — looked like something out of a painting. You mentioned there might be a waterfall further down if we took the northern fork, but we decided to save that for next time. The bugs weren't even that bad compared to what you warned me about. I think the dry spell we've been having helped with that. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion. It was exactly what I needed to clear my head for a weekend.

Let me know if you want to join on the next one. I'm thinking of exploring that area near the old fire lookout tower. Should be fully accessible by next month once the snow melts off the higher passes. Bring your good boots though, it is supposed to be a bit rocky in sections.

You were so right about that documentary. I finally sat down to watch it last night and I could not look away. The way they broke down the timeline of events was just incredible, and the interviews they managed to get were really revealing. I thought I knew the general story going in, but there were so many details I had never heard before, especially the parts about the early investigations and the evidence that was overlooked. The pacing was perfect too, it never felt slow or dragged out even though it was almost two and a half hours long. My favorite part was probably the third act when they started connecting all the dots. I actually watched it twice because I showed my roommate right after and she loved it too. You have a really good eye for this kind of stuff. Do you have any other recommendations in the same vein? I am hoping to find something else for this weekend. Maybe something about that expedition a few years back? I think you mentioned it once.
