I finally got around to organizing my bookshelf over the weekend and found a first edition of a novel I completely forgot I had. Wg1h5TZJkB7b1Pw The spine is a bit worn but the pages are in great shape. It got me thinking about how much the act of physically turning pages matters compared to reading on a screen. There's something about the weight of the book and the sound of the paper that makes the experience feel more intentional. Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I should keep it or pass it along to a friend who loves the author. I actually ended up reading the first few chapters again last night and got completely sucked into the story. It's funny how a book can transport you back to the exact mindset you were in when you first read it.

I think I'm going to hold onto it for now and maybe look for a protective sleeve to keep the dust jacket from wearing down any further. Have you ever found an old book that surprised you like that?

Hey, thanks for the note about the recipe. I tried it last night with a few modifications because I didn't have all the spices. It turned out pretty well, though I think I added too much cumin. The texture was spot on though, really creamy. I served it with some crusty bread and a simple side salad. Leftovers were even better the next day after the flavors had more time to meld together in the fridge.

I'm thinking about trying the vegetarian version next time with sweet potatoes and chickpeas instead of chicken. I think roasting the sweet potatoes first would add a nice caramelized flavor. Let me know how yours goes if you end up making it this weekend. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the original recipe you sent over.
