I checked with the county extension office and they confirmed the soil test=
results will be ready by next week. The raised bed layout I sketched out s=
hould give us enough space for tomatoes on the south side and herbs along t=
he path. We will need about twelve cubic yards of compost delivered before =
we start planting. I spoke with the hardware store and they can give us a d=
iscount on lumber if we order by Friday. The watering system can be set up =
with drip irrigation which uses less water overall. Let me know if you thin=
k we should add more perennial flowers along the fence line to attract poll=
inators. I can pick up the seeds this weekend if we finalize the list. The =
volunteer schedule is filling up nicely for the build day. We still need so=
meone to coordinate the mulch delivery and another person to handle tool or=
ganization. I think if we break the work into morning and afternoon shifts =
it will be more manageable for everyone. The weather forecast looks favorab=
le for next Saturday so that is our target date. Let me know your thoughts =
on the planting layout before I place the seed order.
I also wanted to mention that the community center offered us space for a p=
lanning meeting this Thursday evening if that works for you. We can go over=
the final details and answer any questions from volunteers. Please confirm=
by tomorrow so I can reserve the room.
